Today I’m going to tell you about a few things I’ve learned after a month of white head cleaning.
I. How ink is supplied _UV Printer White cleaning every day for a month
1. Ink supply process _UV Printer White cleaning every day for a month

Inkjet ink supply methods are largely classified into two types.
- Control method using air pressure, mainly used for industrial inkjets.
- Convection method, mainly used for small printers.
When ink is supplied by convection method, it is not related to electronic or electrical signals, except for pumping and cleaning.
To briefly explain the ink supply process,
- From the Main ink tank behind the printer, ink flows through a 2.5m ink tube to the Damper by convection.
- The Damper removes any residue or fine bubbles in the ink and supplies ink to the head.
- However, ink is not naturally supplied from the Damper to the head.
- The ink in the Damper must pass through the head once through cleaning or pumping, and then printing is possible with the ink in the head.
- The ink that passes through the head flows through the Captop and motor pump to the waste ink tank.
2. Two months of White Cleaning Debugging _UV Printer White cleaning every day for a month
After installing the demo equipment, White cleaning went well for 3~4 months, but as time passed, cleaning became less and less clean.
Since it was a demo equipment, I didn’t use it often, so I just used it, and starting from 3 months ago, I checked it one by one whenever I had the chance.
- I also checked the captop and print head position several times (there was an improvement effect, but it was the same afterwards)
- I suspected the life span of the motor pump tube, so I replaced the tube (there was an improvement effect, but it was the same afterwards)
- I also replaced the captop because it is a consumable (there was an improvement effect, but it was the same afterwards)
- I also adjusted the capping station level and gap (it improved a lot, but it did not improve much compared to when the first demo equipment was installed)

At the very end, ‘Could it be because of the damper???’ After 10 months, after replacing the damper, the white cleaning status became similar to the demo installation.
If the following measures had not been taken, the problem would not have been solved by replacing the damper alone.
- Replace the captop and motor pump tube
- Check the position of the captop and print head
- Level and gap between the capping station and the head bottom plate
After solving the problem, I do the white cleaning and print test image every time I went to work from February 14 to March 14.

II. Another thing I learned _UV Printer White cleaning every day for a month
1. White pattern dark and light _UV Printer White cleaning every day for a month
When I did a Nozzle Test after White Cleaning, there were days when the Nozzle pattern was dark and days when it wasn’t.
On days when I printed a lot, a dark white pattern appeared,
On days when I finished printing the Test image only in the morning, it was fine until the next day, but after two days, it became a bit more cloudy, and on the third day, the cloudiness was evident.
I thought that the white ink layer separation only occurred in the ink tube, but if I didn’t use it for a certain period of time, it seemed that the white inside the damper also separated.
2. Problem Symptoms and How to Deal with Them _UV Printer White cleaning every day for a month
There are several symptoms of white layer separation in the damper.
Symptom 1 The white nozzle pattern is clean, but the white density drops when printing, and the density still drops when printing again.
- The white is in a layer separation state in the damper,
- and when the head is cleaned, only light white with good flowability and less white pigment is supplied to the head,
- and when printing in this state, the white density comes out low.
- Since low-concentration white (with less white pigment) is continuously supplied to the head, even if you repeat the test printing, light white continues to come out.
- At this time, you need to pump out the white ink that has separated into layers in the damper.
Symptom 2 If the nozzle does not come back to life even after several white cleanings,
- I also experienced similar symptoms.
- After cleaning once, I got a cloudy but good nozzle pattern,
- but after cleaning twice, I got a pattern with many nozzles missing.
- No matter how many times I repeated it, it was similar, and I had to clean it about 5 times to get a darker and more alive white nozzle pattern.
- In this case, instead of repeating white cleaning, if you pump white for 5 to 10 seconds after the ink comes out and then clean it, you can revive the white nozzle much more easily.
Symptom 3 If you had a lot of work the day before,
- If you printed images containing white for 2~3 hours a day, you can easily get a dark white nozzle pattern the next day.
Symptom 4 If you haven’t used white for a few days, such as after the weekend,
- Just like the weekend, it’s a good idea to pump out the white ink for about 15 seconds and clean it.
- There is white separated in layers inside the ink tube, and the damper is also like that, so you need to do this to get a dark white nozzle pattern.
Yesterday was Monday, so I pumped, and today I got a good nozzle pattern after one cleaning.
Since I use 6 channels for white, unless 3~5 are continuously dropped from one channel, it doesn’t have a big impact on the white printing quality.
