Today, we will introduce you to an acrylic bonding machine that is being sought after by those who are manufacturing goods using UV Printer and Laser cutting equipment.
I. Representatives using ARTJET
1. Acrylic bonding machine version 1
The CEO has been using ARTJET UV Printer for almost 2 years.
He was very interested in the acrylic bonding equipment that was released at his previous workplace 2 years ago, but he held off on purchasing it for several reasons.
First, coated acrylic
The bonding failure rate is lower only with coated acrylic, which is 3 times more expensive than uncoated acrylic,
so instead of the currently used uncoated acrylic, expensive coated acrylic should be used.
Considering the unit price of product delivery, the margin is too low if you include coated acrylic bonding.
Second, uncertainty about product price and future
Companies of a certain size are already doing acrylic bonding work through outsourcing,
and through an investment of 9.9 million won including VAT, you can gauge which direction is better, “outsourcing vs. equipment purchase.”
However, in the case of the CEO, since it is unclear how much additional sales will increase through acrylic bonding goods,
the investment of 9.9 million won is a big risk, so this is also the reason why the purchase decision was postponed.
Third, the narrow width and thickness limitations
The maximum width for acrylic bonding is 300mm,
and the thickness is also okay up to 3mm, but after that, you have to proceed while considering some degree of defects.
For this reason, the purchase of acrylic bonding equipment developed by the previous workplace was put on hold.
2. Acrylic Bonding Equipment Version 2
After thinking about it for about 2 years, he felt the need for acrylic bonding equipment, and he called me,,,,
“Team Leader, I was thinking about purchasing bonding equipment and looked at various equipment through the internet cafe, and no matter how much I looked, your equipment seemed to be the best in terms of cost-effectiveness, so I’d like to take a look.”
He did a demo two months ago, and it was delivered and he is using it well now.
The second version of the acrylic bonding equipment has been upgraded in many ways.
First, it is manufactured simply, so the overall size of the equipment is compact and does not take up much space.
Second, the equipment price is 7 million won excluding VAT. The bonding cost is 120,000 won per kg excluding VAT (expensive Japanese raw materials are used for uncoated acrylic bonding)
Third, the bonding failure rate is significantly lower for not only coated acrylic but also uncoated acrylic, so it is stable.
Fourth, it can be bonded up to 9t, not just 3t.
Fifth, it can be bonded from 300mm wide to a little over 400mm. The length is 600mm, and although it is inconvenient, it can be bonded a little longer.
3. Other representatives who are outsourcing the acrylic bonding work
The CEO uses ARTJET and is currently outsourcing the bonding work.
About 3 months ago, a potential customer wanted to see the actual production site with ARTJET, so I visited the CEO’s factory with the potential customer.
While explaining the ARTJET UV Printer, the acrylic bonding equipment came up briefly, so I explained the 2nd version bonding machine together.
“Team leader, it works with uncoated acrylic, and the width and height are fine. If it costs 7.7 million won, I should go and take a look.”
For your reference, a potential customer who visited his site said that he made a purchase decision after K Print, and he called right after K Print and decided to purchase ARTJET UV Printer and 2nd version acrylic bonding machine.
II. From the seller’s point of view,
1. Selling the first version of the acrylic bonding machine
We tested numerous liquids for bonding uncoated acrylic, but ultimately failed to find an answer.
We started selling in this state, and even in the early days of selling the acrylic bonding machine, there were many inquiries because there was no place selling it.
The first thing I’m going to say is,,,
“Uncoated acrylic has many bonding defects, so you should use the coated acrylic that we supply instead of the acrylic you’re using now.”
More important than the desire to sell is ‘there should be no problems when it go out’, so I always mentioned the potential problems first, and most of the people who contacted us after the first call did not contact us.
After spending over a year like this,
I thought, ‘Other companies must make better acrylic bonding machine’ and eventually I found out about other machines from three companies through the Internet and potential customer demos.
All of the competing equipment was expensive and took up a lot of space, but I thought it would work with uncoated acrylic,
so I concluded, ‘The first version that we are selling now will not be easy to sell.’
2. Acrylic bonding machine 2nd version, 3 months after sale
‘Internal verification is only the most basic’
We started sales after internal verification, and 3 months have passed.
5 units were sold in 3 months. 2 units are scheduled to be delivered this month.
In this way, field verification was also completed through actual users for 3 months.
