Today I will talk about ARTJET UV Printer color, white, and Varnish offset settings.
I. Offset Flowchart
The basic premise is that the mechanical alignment is correct. Since the mechanical alignment is correct in most cases, I will explain the offset right away.
1. ARTJET Offset configuration diagram
The offset of ARTJET UV Printer consists of a total of 4 types.
* A window that aligns color channels when printing from left to right.
* A window that aligns color channels when printing from right to left.
* A window that aligns color channels that protrude vertically, not left or right, when printing.
* A window that aligns all channels when printing in both directions, left and right.
2. Checking Offset with Actual Image
In the past, when we sold a large UV printer called JETRIX, it was the same, but
it is more accurate to align the channel offset with the actual image to be printed rather than the offset image built into the software.
For this reason, offset alignment is performed through the actual image to be printed rather than the offset image built into the software.
3. Offset flowchart

Color, white, Varnish, all offsets are based on Black, K.
First, finish the offset perfectly for C M Y K Lc Lm color.
Then, finish the white offset for the color where the offset is complete,
and finally, finish the Varnish.
II. Color Offset
1. Full description of the Offset window and offset image
When you click the No.1 color icon in ARTJET Software, the Offset window will appear.

It depends on the software settings, but if I tell you the default,
1-1 is Black, the standard for all channels, and because it is the standard, the button is not activated.
* From 1-2 to 1-6, in order, it is C M Y Lc Lm,
* From 1-7 to 1-12, it is W W W W W W, that is, 6 white channels
* From 1-13 to 1-18, it is V V V V V V, that is, 6 Varnish channels.
The image to be used for color offset is as follows, and it must be printed on white as the base to match the exact offset when printing white color at the same time. It is convenient to match the color offset if you have a 10x magnifying glass.

2. Match left and right offsets
No.2 and No.4 are linked.
Positive is printing from right to left, i.e. in the direction of the upper lime green arrow, and is displayed as Single leave in software.
Reverse is printing from left to right, i.e. in the direction of the lower lime green arrow, and is displayed as Single return in software.
Regardless of Positive or Reverse, if you set the number to “+”, the channel you want to match moves to the left, and if you set it to “-“, it moves to the right.
Let’s adjust the Magenta offset by referring to the picture below.
Ignore the vertical direction and let’s align it from left to right.
* Magenta is off to the right based on Black.
* Since Black is the reference color, it cannot be moved to the right, and Magenta must be moved to the left.
* Magenta corresponds to 1-3 in No. 4, and its current value is 124.
* To move it to the right, change 124 to +1 to 125.
*Then, Magenta will match the left and right directions based on Black, as shown on the right.
* The left and right offsets only move by 1, and you can adjust the numbers by pressing the up and down arrows.
After changing, press the “save” button at the bottom right to apply.
If you’ve adjusted Positive, change it to Reverse and adjust Reverse in the same way.
Similarly, if it’s “+”, move to the left, and if it’s “-“, move to the right.

3. Up and down, Vertical Offset
This is No.3.

* Since Magenta is down based on Black, Magenta needs to be moved up.
* Magenta corresponds to 1-3 in No.3, and its current value is 0.0.
* To move up, change 0.0 to +0.5 to 0.5.
* Vertical offset moves by 1 unit when you press the arrow, and can be input in 0.5 units by directly increasing or decreasing.
After changing, press the “save” button at the bottom right to apply.
4. Bi direction print offset
In the same way, match Cyan, Yellow, Light Cyan, Light Magenta and finish the color offset,
before matching White and Varnish offset, match bi directions with color.

Positive, when printing from right to left, Reverse, when printing from left to right,
This is a window that adjusts the offset in bi direction printing.
Scan speed, you can adjust different bi-directional setting values depending on the speed at which the print head carriage moves when printing,
and since ARTJET UV Printer defaults to Normal, it sets bidirectional settings based on Normal scan speed.
You can adjust in 0.5 increments by clicking the arrow button next to Value 12.
Since this value cannot be distinguished whether it is left or right when the print focus is out, you have no choice but to set the optimal value by trying and error while adding “+” and “-” to the appropriate value.
After changing, press the “save” button at the bottom right to apply.
III. Color White Offset
1. White 6 channel
In the case of Color, each channel is distinguished by K C M Y Lc Lm.
However, White is White for all 6 channels.
If you proceed with the offset while activating all White channels, you cannot distinguish which channel’s white is not offset.
You can adjust it overall, but for precise tuning, you need to lock 5 out of 6 channels and adjust them one by one.
If you adjust each White channel Positive and Reverse based on Color, both directions also follow the color, so you do not need to set the White bi direction print offset.
2. Lock White Channel

If you click the box inside the dotted line in the left picture, the middle window will appear.
Numbers 7 to 12 are white channels.
Leave number 7, and press the down arrow on the right for numbers 8 to 12 to select “close”.
After changing everything and pressing Save & Close in order, as in the right window, W1,W1,W1,W1,W1,W1, will change to W1,off,off,off,off,off, so that only the first White channel can be printed.
3. White Offset adjustment for each channel
When printing the image below, set the white 1 channel to Positive, Reverse, and Vertical offset in the same way as the color.
However, the white vertical value is a “-” minus value. To raise it up, it becomes a “+” plus, so the absolute number decreases.

white After finishing the first channel, repeat the same task with only the second channel turned on.
off,W1,off,off,off,off,
Finish the tasks for each channel in turn.
off,off,W1,off,off,off,
off,off,off,W1,off,off,
off,off,off,off,W1,off,
off,off,off,off,off,W1,
white After finishing the tasks for channels 1 to 6, turn all channels on.
W1,W1,W1,W1,W1,W1,
IV. Color White Varnish Offset
You can proceed in the same way as White.
However, in the case of Varnish, since it has the following characteristics,
* Varnish is jetted and hardened with an LED lamp after a few more passes, so it is not easy to align it exactly like White.
* Varnish ink itself has cohesion after being sprayed, so even if it is not aligned exactly, Varnish ink will be attached to a similar location. (However, it may vary depending on the surface tension of the material used)
Only adjust the Positive, Reverse, and Vertical offsets of the first channel of Varnish, and apply the adjustment values to Varnish 2 to 6.
Even if you do this, the offset will not differ much. But you can proceed in the same way as white.
That’s it for today.
