Today, I will explain the problem and solution of how to fix it, which was difficult to keepd nozzles in white channels 1, 2, 3, and 4 aldsive, even though pumping and cleaning were both successful.

This equipment was delivered on April 7, 2004. It has been used for nearly two years.

He is the type to touch each piece of equipment, so he had a lot of questions at first, but he knows a lot about the equipment and uses it well.

He rarely called about equipment problems, but he contacted me about a problem.

‘Is the peristaltic pump tube (yellow tube) worn out? No, He can figure that out himself,,’

‘Even if the motor itself turns, the pillars above it don’t turn?’

I checked over the phone, but it wasn’t the variable I thought it was.

• And, not only the White motor pump, but also the other two, Color and Varnish motor pumps, have the same symptoms.

The representative’s guess was that all three were the same problem, so he thought, ‘Maybe it’s a mistake on the electronic board?’

“You went to “Menu => printhead cleaning setting => Motor pump”

“It’s 0.”

“You can change the second value to 3000 and the third value to 2000.”

 

The problem was that the time for the “Flash Spray” function, which improves the nozzle condition while firing, was set to “0”, but the value was incorrectly entered in the “Ink pump section”.

 

2. Ink Pump(milliSec) software features description _UV Printer Cleaning Motor pump does not turn

 

Epson series UV printers using Captop will perform the following actions when the Cleaning button is pressed.

• The capping station goes down and up, sealing the print head and the captop.
• First, the motor pump turns, then rests for a while, and then turns on the second time.
• By rotating it twice like this, ink is extracted from the print head.
• After the motor pump rotates twice, the capping station goes down and releases the seal.
• The third motor pump turns, transferring the ink on top of the captop to the waste ink tank.
• The head carriage moves to the wiper position, and the bottom of the print head is wiped with the wiper.
• The head carriage is sent to the left end where there is a white cloth,
• The print head itself sprays ink onto the cloth and returns to the capping station.

Ink Pump(milli Sec), milli Sec is the unit, so 1,000 is 1 second.

 

First, Clear Ink in Cap 8000

• This is the action to move the ink accumulated on the captop after cleaning to the waste ink and it lasts 8 seconds.
• That is, it is the third action in the cleaning action above.

 

Second, Ink Fill 3000

• This is the first action in the cleaning above, after the head is sealed to the captop, it extracts ink through the head for the first time.
• The time to extract the first ink is 3000, so it is 3 seconds.

 

Third, Strong Ink Fill 2000

• This is the second action in the cleaning above, where the head is extracted once, rests for a while, and then extracted a second time.
• The time is 2000, so it is 2 seconds.

 

2. Flash Spray(millSec) section _UV Printer Cleaning Motor pump does not turn

After cleaning, go to the left cloth and recover the nozzle condition through self-spray section.

 

First, Flash before print 3000

• Before each print, go to the left cloth location, spray itself for 3 seconds, and start printing. This function is usually set to 0.
• Occasionally, the operation ends before the self-spray is finished, and sprays before the printing starts, so this value is set to 0, and there is no major problem with printing.

 

Second, Flash 4000 

• After the cleaning operation, it goes to the left cloth and sprays itself for 4 seconds.
• This is the window where you can set self-spraying to improve the nozzle cleaning condition after wiping the bottom of the head with a wiper through cleaning.

 

The reason the cleaning motor stopped spinning was because the “flash before print” value 0 was entered in “Ink pump (millSec)”.
