Today, I will explain the problem where Inkload (pumping) did not work even after replacing the captop, replacing the yellow tube (pump tube), and checking the positions of the head and captop several times.

 

 

Today,
I will explain the problem of ink loading (pumping) suddenly not working, even though customer used it without any problems yesterday.

I. Problem _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

 

He has been using other manufacturers’ products for a long time, and he has been using ARTJET UV Printer for 1 year.
He knows how to check simple things himself and does maintenance himself.

 

“I was using it without any problems until yesterday, but today, color cleaning suddenly stopped working. When I tried loading (pumping) ink, the color ink did not flow out into the waste ink bottle.”

II. Problem solving process _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

1. Basic assumptions _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

Until yesterday, there was no problem with inkload (pumping), and since he said that he didn’t change anything,

I assumed that the mechanical changes, such as the Print head and Captop positions, were the same.

And then, I started checking other things one by one.

2. Check for back-end problems based on Captop _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

If we take the rear end based on the captop,

• ink tube connected to the bottom of the captop,
• motor pump tube (yellow tube) from the ink tube,
• whether the pump motor lid is not working
• waste ink tank

 

In most cases, when there is no problem and the ink load (pumping) suddenly not work, 

• The ink tube connected to the bottom of the captop becomes loose over time, causing air to enter
• When the motor pump tube (yellow tube) shrinks over time, it cannot transport liquid (ink).

I checked two things, but the problem is still not solved.

 

A more certain way to check the Captop bottom problem

The Captop and Motor pump by color are connected as follows.

I connected the tubes like this by swapping the Color and Varnish. That is,

• I connected the lower tube connected to the Color captop to the Varnish motor pump yellow tube,
• and I connected the Varnish captop lower tube to the Color motor pump yellow tube.

It has been changed like this,

Varnish is connected to the Color motor pump, so when you run color inkload, Varnish should flow out.

• If Varnish flows out without a problem, the Color motor pump is normal.
• If Varnish does not flow out, the Color motor pump is problematic.
• As a result of the test, Varnish flowed out without a problem,
• Therefore, the Motor pump problem is excluded from the cause of Color inkload not working.

To be sure, I operated the Varnish motor pump connected to Color, and again, the color did not flow out.

In other words, the problem of Color inkload not working is not related to the bottom of the Captop.

 

 

3. Captop Top Damper and Ink tube _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

After separating the damper for each color channel from the print head, I tried to extract ink with a syringe, and no air bubbles were not come.

In other words, there was no problem with the connection between the damper and the ink tube on top of the captop.

The method of checking for air bubbles using a syringe is different from the inspection method for the Color head and the White, Varnish head.

4. Captop itself _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

There was no problem with the top or bottom of the captop, and the captop and print head positions were used without any problems until yesterday, so

I thought, ‘Maybe it’s the life of the captop itself?’ and replaced the captop.

However, the problem was still not solved.

In other words, the captop was not the cause of the problem.

5. It’s solved, but what caused it?? _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

I even thought, ‘Is the print head itself clogged?’,

but the company representative sometimes injects alcohol into the color head to clean the head (not recommended. It can damage the head), so the head itself is not clogged,

and just in case, I changed the capping station height from 5 to 6, so that the captop seals the print head more tightly.

 

Ink load(pumping) was done, and even after changing from 6 to 5, the original value, Ink load(pumping) was done well.

The problem was solved, but I was still worried because I couldn’t figure out the cause.

III. Cause of the problem _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

“I used it well for 2 days, but the ink load (pumping) stopped working again.”

1. Captop and print head location _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

3 days ago, I judged that there would be no problem in the inspection area,

and decided to first look at the print head and captop locations that had not been inspected before.

• I put white ink on the captop rubber,
• and entered the capping state, and then immediately moved the print head carriage to the left,
• raised the head carriage height, and by looking at the bottom of the head,
• I could estimate the location where the captop is sealed to the print head.

3. Cause of problem _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

The captop edge did not enter the center of the head,

It was fine before, but why does it suddenly not work after some time?

• If you look at the back of the print head protection plate, it is slightly gapped,
• The seal is broken through this gap, air is sucked in, and ink load (pumping) does not occur.

I pushed the captop position up slightly and it was immediately resolved by placing it in the center. (The photo below is an example)

 

IV. Summary _UV Printer ink pumping suddenly not work

If everything is normal up to this point,

• Check the connection status of the damper and ink tube. Also, pull out the ink tube by hand, check if it is tight, and try drawing ink with a syringe.
• Check if the print head and captop are in the correct position.
• Check if the print head protection plate is not dented.
• Check if the print head protection plate is not separated in a specific area.
