Today, I will explain the problem where printing is fine at first, but in the middle of printing, a certain color suddenly does not come out and the color is wrong.

 

I. Problem Symptoms _UV Printer printing is fine at first, suddenly color is changed

There have been many white issues so far, but this time, Lc or Lm does not appear at all during printing.

• Inkload (pumping) is normal
• Print head cleaning is normal
• Nozzle pattern is also normal in most cases
• When the color changes during printing, if I stop printing and print the nozzle pattern without cleaning, it is similar to the nozzle pattern that appears due to ink deterioration or insufficient ink supply

The same symptom does not occur every time you print,,

• Sometimes it is fine,
• There is no clear change in conditions, but sometimes the ink runs out,
• I thought it was solved because it was fine up to the 5th time,,, but the ink suddenly runs out during the 6th print,,,

 

II. What we tested _UV Printer printing is fine at first, suddenly color is changed

 

This problem took a lot of effort to find the cause. It was a very difficult experience until I found out the cause.

1. Test image print _UV Printer printing is fine at first, suddenly color is changed

A3 size Test image printed 5 times for 20 minutes in one direction, normal

Suddenly, when printing 6 times, Light magenta does not come out and the color is wrong

Cleaning and printing the nozzle pattern is normal

When printing again in this state, it comes out normally a few times, but Lm disappears again and the color is wrong

Same symptom no matter how many times it is repeated

Light magenta Damper replacement

‘Is the damper defective?’ I replaced the damper, but the problem was not solved.

 

Light magenta ink tube entire replacement

‘Is the ink tube slightly torn and causing an ink supply problem?’ I thought,
It was a difficult task, but I replaced the entire light magenta ink tube, main bottle, and damper.

The problem was not solved.

 

Captop replacement

‘Is there any deteriorated ink left in the captop?’

Since a similar case occurred with the white ink captop, I replaced the captop just in case.
The problem was solved after the replacement.
However, the same problem occurred 2 weeks later!!

 

Print head replacement

Up until now, I have replaced everything related to ink supply, from the ink line to the damper,
and only the print head, another gateway through which the ink passes, remained.
Since it was not a DATA-related problem, I thought replacing the print head was meaningless, but I replaced the print head to confirm the variable.
As expected, it was not a print head problem.

1. Think _UV Printer printing is fine at first, suddenly color is changed

‘If I replace the captop, the same problem will not occur for a while’

I started to think about the captop because I thought it was a variable related to the captop.

This consumer is a person who uses two ARTJETs,

and one of them has been used well without this symptom,

so I started to closely observe the captop of the equipment that was operating normally and the captop of the equipment with the problem.

 

2. One thing different _UV Printer printing is fine at first, suddenly color is changed

The normal equipment color captop is not color-coded as a whole as in the left picture,
but the problematic equipment (randomly made) is not color-coded as a whole, and the right Light magenta spot is colored in red.

3.’Why is it red?’ _UV Printer printing is fine at first, suddenly color is changed

 

The reason why the right end of the captop is red is because Lm ink is continuously flowing out of that part, and the cloth inside the captop touches the Lm nozzle and absorbs the ink.

That is, in the capping state, the damper that supplies ink to the Lm nozzle is not full because the ink is leaking out, and

At the beginning of printing, printing proceeds with the remaining amount in the damper, but in the middle, the ink is not supplied, so the light magenta is not printed.

 

4. Solve _UV Printer printing is fine at first, suddenly color is changed

In ARTJET UV Printer software, you can adjust the capping height as follows.
After changing the value from 6 to 5, the same problem no longer occurred.

 

 

The principle of capping is that

• the entire capping unit rises by the motor,
• and the captop gently touches the bottom of the print head by the spring at the bottom of the captop,
• and when the capping unit rises, the spring is completely pressed and the print head and captop are tightly maintained.
• At this time, the outside air is blocked because the black border of the captop is elastic rubber.

 

As the captop rubber weakens,

• The capping unit setting height of 6 is too high, although the captop seals the print head strongly and can clean it better.
• The reason why there was no problem at first even though the capping unit height was 6 is because the newly replaced captop rubber blade was alive, so the print head surface did not touch the captop cloth.
• However, as time passed, the captop rubber was pressed and the rubber weakened, and the print head touched the captop cloth.
• This was the problem that occurred when the ink inside the damper touched the cloth and flowed out.
