ARTJET UV Printer Problems and Solutions_Ink Supply Problems Summary

 

ARTJET UV Printer is a flatbed UV printer with 600 x 899 mm, XP600 print head 3.

• Print head 1 CMYK Lc Lm
• Print head 2 White 6 channels, white density adjustment, channel On Off possible. Even if one or two channels are problematic, white is not a problem.
• Print head 3 Varnish 6 channels, varnish density adjustment, channel On Off possible. Even if one or two channels are problematic, varnish is not a problem.

We have been selling since 2019, and we are organizing the printer problems, causes, and solutions we have experienced over the past 5 years.

I. Ink supply principle _Ink Supply Problems Summary

1. Ink supply independent of image data _Ink Supply Problems Summary

The following is an actual phone call made by a consumer after replacing the head.

“After replacing the print head, ink is not coming out at all. Is the DATA cable not connected properly?”

“Did you clean the ink after loading it?”

“I didn’t.”

“Ink must be supplied to the print head to check whether ink is ejected properly.”

“I knew that ink would come out right away if I just replaced the head, so I printed.”

“Ink load and cleaning must be done properly to ensure that ink enters the print head and data is output properly.”

Ink load and cleaning functions are not related to image data, and you should consider the image data-related parts and the ink supply-related parts separately.

2. Ink supply flow chart and peristaltic pump motor _Ink Supply Problems Summary

The ink supply-related parts can be largely divided into upper and lower parts based on the Captop.

• The upper part is the print head + damper
• The lower part is the Captop + peristaltic motor pump

 

Ink is supplied from the main ink bottle to the waste ink bottle using a single peristaltic motor pump.

In order to draw ink from the main bottle to the waste ink with a single peristaltic motor pump, there must be no air leakage anywhere in the entire section.

 

If air leaks, air takes over the ink and the ink cannot be supplied to the waste ink tank. Please refer to the inspection points for air leaks below.

 

3. Convection + Damper Technology _Ink Supply Problems Summary

Once the ink is supplied like this, the ink fills up inside the print head,

and the ink does not flow back to the back of the print head, nor does it flow out of the print head.

The ink maintains this state due to the “convection + damper technology” that has been proven for a long time in desktop printers.
