Printer works but printing does not work
I. Problem _Printer works but printing does not work
1. Symptoms _Printer works but printing does not work
Equipment initialization is normal
Other motion movements are also normal
However, the nozzle pattern does not appear even when the Test button is pressed.
Even if printing is performed in this state, the head carriage moves and the printing operation occurs, but the ink is not jetted.
2. Cause _Printer works but printing does not work
This problem occurs when the head board and print head do not communicate properly. When a communication error occurs, the light on the head board blinks as shown in the video below.

This problem occurs when the Flat cable connection of one of the three heads, Color head, White head, or Varnish head, is not good.
II. Solution _Printer works but printing does not work
Before proceeding with the instructions below, we recommend that you turn off all power and turn it on in order.
In particular, after turning on the Main switch and turning on the Power button, you should allow about 30 seconds for the electronic board to be properly powered when connecting the GUI.
If you connect the GUI right after turning on the Power button, the GUI will be connected without all power being supplied to the electronic board, so ink may not be ejected due to a communication error.
If the same problem is not resolved even after proceeding as described above, you should proceed with the following.
Board inspection should always be performed with the printer’s main power switch turned off.
1. Remove the printer cover _Printer works but printing does not work
For convenience of operation, the Printer cover is detachable.
How to remove the printer cover
The screws that secure the printer cover are two on the right end and two on the left end, as shown in the picture above.
After removing the four bolts, two people hold each end and lift it up to separate it.
It is slightly interlocked at the main ink tank area, so you have to twist it up well.
2. Finding Communication Error Print Head _Printer works but printing does not work

- Turn off the entire printer (GUI off => Power button off => Power main switch off => Wait for 30 seconds)
- Remove the silver bar that secures the print head DATA Cable (Remove the three bolts and remove the bar)
- Remove the two black screws on the small board connected to the Varnish DATA Cable
- Remove the small board from the head board (It is a little tight, so you have to slowly pull it out while turning it left and right with two fingers)
- After the small board is separated, position it so that it does not touch the head board
- Check again visually that the Emergency button is out
- Turn on the entire printer (Power main switch ON => Power button ON => Wait for 30 seconds, then GUI ON)
- You must allow at least 30 seconds for the GUI to start after the Power button is turned on. If the board does not have enough time to power up, the same communication error will occur when connecting the GUI
- When the equipment initialization is complete, press the TEST button to check the nozzle pattern
If the nozzle pattern does not come out the same, it is not a problem caused by the Varnish part.
Leave the Varnish as is (not connected to the headboard) and proceed with the White part in the same way as the Varnish and then proceed with the test.
If the same symptom occurs even after proceeding to the White part, proceed with the test of the color head in the same way as the Varnish procedure.
3. If the problematic head is Varnish _Printer works but printing does not work
When the data cable connection is not good,
There could be two problems.
The print head data cable connected to the electronic board is not well connected?
Or, the print head data cable connected to the print head is not well connected.
The electronic board is where you can easily disconnect and reconnect the data cable, so check this first.
If that doesn’t work, disconnect and reconnect the data cable connected to the print head, and then do a TEST.
4. On the consumer site _Printer works but printing does not work
On the consumer site that received the problem report, the Color white nozzle pattern was printed normally after disconnecting the Varnish cable. After reconnecting and confirming the connection of the Varnish board part data cable, all patterns were printed normally.
III. If the problem is not resolved after checking the Varnish Data cable connection status _Printer works but printing does not work
I am explaining this assuming that normal printing occurs when the Color and White print heads are connected, but nothing is printed when only the Varnish is connected.
1. Three possibilities _Printer works but printing does not work
We need to assume three causes for the problem.
- Varnish head print head data cable problem
- Varnish print head itself problem
- Varnish head electronic board part problem where Varnish is connected
2. Check if there is a headboard problem _Printer works but printing does not work
Connect the data cable responsible for the White print head to the Varnish part of the head board.
Since normal printing was performed on the White board, the White Print head and the Print head data cable are normal.
If the same problem occurred as with Varnish when connected to the Varnish board, there is a problem with the head board itself.
If the nozzle pattern was printed normally (taking into account that the Offset is printed in an odd location because the Varnish value is applied),
there is no problem with the head electronic board.
3. Is it the print head itself? Or the data cable? _Printer works but printing does not work
There is a spare print head data cable in the spare parts box provided with the delivery. First, replace the cheap DATA cable, and if the same symptom occurs, replace the print head itself.
