I. “After varnish spot, why is the overall color different?_ The color is strange after applying Spot color
1. Color that is different from the original color _The color is strange after applying Spot color
Spot 1(white), Spot 2(Varnish) were created normally with Ai file, and the Rip software is Sai photo print Rip.
As on the left, the white letter area should be expressed in white, and the varnish should be printed only on the white.
However, if you only capture Spot 1, Spot 2, that is, the White and Varnish spots, the colors will not come out properly, as on the right.
2. Where did it go wrong? _The color is strange after applying Spot color
- Is it because ARTJET software is printing incorrectly?
- Is it because of a problem with Rip software that the colors are not coming out properly?
- Is it because of some setting in the process of creating the Ai file?
Rip software has a [Print Channel Preview] function,
and when I checked, the SSAT letters were not white, but had a different color.
- That is, the ARTJET printer printed them in the same color,
- and there was a problem with the Rip software and the Ai file not matching well.
The only way to fix color distortion in Rip software is to apply an Icc profile or change the graph.
For something like the current white with a completely different color, you can only check it in the Ai file.
II. Problem Solving Process _The color is strange after applying Spot color
1. If you combine only Color, Spot 1, and Spot 2, the color will be wrong. _The color is strange after applying Spot color
Print after saving only the Color Layer separately
In the Ai file, delete the Spot 1 and Spot 2 layers and save.
In Rip SW, create only white in [Monochrome mode] and print, and it prints normally.
After deleting the Color Layer, save only Spot 1 and Spot 2 separately and then print
In the Ai file, delete the Spot 1 and Spot 2 layers and save.
It prints normally.
Just in case, delete Spot 1 and Spot 2 layers and recreate them and print
I thought, ‘Maybe something went wrong while creating Spot 1 and Spot 2?’, so I recreated Spot 1 and Spot 2 and printed them, but the same problem occurred.
In other words, there is no problem when printing each individually, but a problem occurs when only color, spot1 and spot2 are combined.
2. Problem Cause Inference Process _ The color is strange after applying Spot color
‘If I only print the color, it’s normal, but why does the color layer color change like this when I only set the spot?’
After thinking about it for a while, I recalled how to make the white spot.
When making the white spot, if [print overlay color] is not checked, only the white is printed, and the color layer color below is not printed,
‘Maybe [print overlay color] is checked in the color layer, so it is mixed with the Spot 1 and Spot 2 layers and expressed as a different color?’
After making that inference, I selected only the color layer separately, and [print overlay color] was selected.
3. Troubleshooting _The color is strange after applying Spot color
When I printed without selecting [Print Overlay Color] while selecting the Color layer, the colors came out normally.
