I. White Nozzle Recovery is becoming increasingly difficult _Captop, Yellow tube replacement time

1. 10 month old demo _Captop, Yellow tube replacement time

It’s been about 10 months since I set up the demo equipment in April last year.

In the case of the ARTJET UV Printer, Color and Varnish are not cleaned as a routine, and cleaning is only done when there is a real problem.

However, White is heavier than other colors in terms of pigment, so cleaning is done routinely.

Up until about 3~4 months, the nozzle seemed to recover quickly, but starting from a month or two ago, it started taking time to recover the nozzle,

Naturally, the ink used to recover the white nozzle increased.

Even after checking the Captop and Printhead positions several times, cleaning did not proceed as smoothly as expected,

After adjusting the level of the capping station, it improved significantly, but it still took longer to recover the white nozzle than when it was first installed.

I also tried increasing the motor pump speed and the motor pump operation time, but it was good the first few times, but I did not think it was a perfect solution.

Yesterday, I replaced the Captop that I had been using for about 6 months with a new part.

After replacing it, the white nozzle recovered much faster.

After about 2 days, the recovery didn’t happen quickly again.

 

4. Old Peristaltic pump tube _Captop, Yellow tube replacement time

When I pressed Cleaning, it only made a ‘whistling’ sound, and at the very end, it started spinning from the action of removing the ink remaining in the Captop.

Still, once it spun, it spun well the next time, so I just used it.

The problem is that certain nozzles were quickly restored, but the first and second nozzles were not always restored well.

Even if I did Ink Load or Cleaning, the ink came out well,,,, so I never considered replacing the yellow tube until now.

 

II. Think _Captop, Yellow tube replacement time

Except for the Cleaning motor pump, the ink flow has nothing to do with electricity or electronics.

The main ink tank, ink tube, damper, and print head are drawn by a single peristaltic pump motor.

• Since the main ink tank and ink tube are not consumables,
• the print head also just flows ink,
• and the only consumables are the damper, captop, peristaltic motor pump, or the yellow tube.

The print head and captop positions are accurate,

and the capping station level has just been adjusted,

• The motor pump doesn’t turn well at first, but turns well once it starts turning.
• The motor pump and yellow tube that suck up ink well once it starts turning don’t seem to have any major problems.

 

I thought it might be a bit excessive to replace the yellow tube, but I replaced it today.(Yellow tube, peristaltic tube replacement methods)

After replacing it, the white nozzle recovery time was significantly reduced.

 

3. When to replace the captop and yellow tube _Captop, Yellow tube replacement time

I tried several different methods, and they were effective in improving it, but I don’t think there is a better way than replacing the basic consumables.

As you can see in the picture below, the Captop rubber blade is also worn out a lot,

and especially, the yellow tube is shrunken like this,

so when it sucks up the liquid once, it doesn’t suck it all up,

so I think it’s just continuously sucking ink from the damper that draws it out.

Inkload works, but when white cleaning doesn’t work as well as before, the first thing to do is

I think replace the captop and yellow tube.

It seems right to stick to the basics and then check them.

I think sticking to the basics is the fastest way, rather than trying out various other know-hows.
