Today, I will explain about “ARTJET UV Printer Application 38 _ Mixing two images and printing them on Rip”.
I. “Team leader, can’t we combine two images in Rip and print them together?”
1. I don’t think there is such a function??
The CEO who has been using ARTJET for over a year asked a question, and since I have never used it before,
“CEO, I don’t think there is such a function. Why don’t you just work on it in Illustrator and then create it?”
“That also takes time, so I’m asking because I think it would be better to merge it right in the rip.”
“I’ve never used it before, so I don’t think there is..”
“Yes, I understand.”
About 30 minutes later, the representative who asked the question called me back.
“I found it, Team Leader. If you select two images in Rip, the [Nest] button will be activated, and you can do it there. I’ll tell you to upload it to the blog later^^”
2. Two images with fixed size acrylic
3thickness transparent acrylic 585 x 300mm acrylic,
When trying to print a photo of a marathon club advisor, the photo capacity was too small, so even if I print it 1:1, it was about 212x 141mm, so there was a lot of acrylic left,
and I decided to print other photos as well.
If it were normal,
I would print the first image first,
and then print the second image by resetting the X, Y margins on acrylic media.
but I remembered the nesting function that the CEO mentioned. The conditions are as follows.
Acrylic size 585 x 300mm
First image 212 x 141mm
Second image 370 x 493mm
The mission is to print two images at once on an acrylic size of 585 x 300mm!! However, I plan to adjust the print size to fit the acrylic size.
II. Work order
1. Upload two images to Rip
Image 1 is sized 212 x 141mm.

Image 2 is 370 x 493mm.

[Nest] button that becomes active when you select images 1 and 2 together

2. A new task window appears when you click [Nest]

3. In the new task window
For printing convenience, set the printable size to Acrylic 585 x 300mm

Select each image to adjust the print size

Move the image with the mouse
Please refer to the short video below.

So the printing was completed and cutting proceeded.

Adjusting the margins of each image doesn’t seem to work very well.
It may not always be a necessary feature, but it seems like it would save time to be able to implement similar features through Rip software, rather than working on two files in Illustrator or Photoshop to match the image size to the print material.
That’s it for today.
