- Anyone whose printer stays stuck failing to home the Z-axis the first time the GUI connects

- Before removing the driver, first confirm the existing install path (PC > Windows (C) > Program Files (x86) > ARTJET 6090 Flatbed Printer)
- Always use USB3.0-WIN10_64bit.exe from the ARTJET folder on the desktop for reinstallation — do not use any other version
- After reinstalling, unplug and replug the USB cable and confirm that the YiLi-USB3.0 port appears correctly before moving to the next step
- If reinstalling the driver doesn’t fix it, try a different USB port on the PC, or visually check the printer’s USB connector pins for damage

I. Symptom — When Initialization Fails
The first time the GUI connects, it checks each communication channel — and the machine kept getting stuck, unable to home the Z-axis.
Naturally, we tried power-cycling the entire printer and checking the USB connection — but the same symptom persisted regardless.
II. Resolution — When Initialization Fails
We’re not sure why, but the printer driver (YiLi-USB3.0), which should always be present, had disappeared,,
Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver resolved the issue immediately.
III. How to Uninstall and Reinstall the Communication Program — When Initialization Fails
The USB port required by our printer software is YiLi-USB3.0.
With the window below open, unplug the USB cable from the PC or the machine and plug it back in — the YiLi-USB3.0 port should appear and disappear accordingly.
However, if nothing happens, or if YiLi-USB3.0 doesn’t appear even after connecting the USB, then the printer software installed on the PC is not communicating properly with the printer.

First, to reinstall the communication program, remove the currently installed one.
The existing communication program is located at the path below.
PC > Windows (C) > Program Files (x86) > ARTJET 6090 Flatbed Printer — near the bottom of the folder, you’ll find USB3.0-WIN10_64bit.exe

Double-click USB3.0-WIN10_64bit.exe, then click Next — the window shown below will appear. Click Remove to uninstall the currently installed driver.

At the time of delivery, all installer files and materials needed for basic operation were saved in the ARTJET folder on the desktop.
In that folder, double-click USB3.0-Win10_64bit.exe and follow the installation steps in order.


To confirm the connection was set up correctly, go to the path below and unplug/replug the USB cable from the PC, checking that the port appears properly each time you plug it back in.
IV. Other Possible Causes — When Initialization Fails
- We saw this issue caused once by a faulty USB port on the PC.
- Moving the cable to a different port and reconnecting fixed the recognition problem immediately.
- If communication still isn’t working, trying a different USB port on the PC is worth a shot.
- This happened when someone accidentally kicked the cable connected to the printer while walking by, causing physical shock to the connector.
- The symptom was intermittent stalling during printing, or the carriage completely failing to move partway through a print job.
- We checked everything and couldn’t find the cause — it turned out the pins on the printer’s USB connector had been bent/damaged, as shown below.

This normally would have required replacing the board,
but the customer sourced a replacement port themselves and soldered it onto the board, resolving the issue.
