Today, I’m going to talk about things to consider before purchasing a UV printer.
I. Something you can’t figure out even if you look hard _Considerations Before Buying a UV Printer
1. Internet search and visit demo _Considerations Before Buying a UV Printer
You can check out various products online, but you won’t find detailed information beyond the basic specifications.
However, if you visit for a demo, you can learn about actual print quality and pricing.

2. Still, I don’t know _Considerations Before Buying a UV Printer
It’s difficult to assess equipment stability and ink stability through a one-day demo.
For those new to UV printers, it’s difficult to know whether the equipment is over-specced or under-specced.
And most importantly, after-sales service.
When Ink Tech sold JETRIX large-format UV printers, a Polish friend of mine emailed me:
“Please, change our after-sales service representative to someone else. They don’t understand what I’m saying and just tell me to repeat the basic checks. They’re not helpful!”
- If the equipment sales company doesn’t know the equipment well,
- or if the equipment sales company knows the equipment well and our after-sales service representative is too low-level,
- even something that’s not a big deal can be delayed for several days, leading to a major problem.

II. UV Printer Price _Considerations Before Buying a UV Printer
Please note that the prices are from a long time ago and may differ from the current prices.
1. Japanese equipment _Considerations Before Buying a UV Printer
Even seven years ago, the print quality and stability of Chinese equipment were inferior, making Japanese equipment a viable choice.
However, as the quality and stability of Chinese equipment have improved, the cost-effectiveness of Japanese equipment has fallen significantly compared to Chinese equipment.
Some equipment buyers insist on using only Japanese equipment, while others utilize Chinese equipment effectively.
If properly maintained, Chinese equipment is comparable in quality and color to Japanese equipment.

2. Domestic and Chinese equipment _Considerations Before Buying a UV Printer
It’s been a long time since Chinese equipment surpassed domestic equipment.
Having worked for 11 years at the JETRIX UV Printer development and manufacturing company, I can attest that Chinese equipment has surpassed domestic equipment in quality since 2015.
Now, at European exhibitions, over 80% of the booths feature Chinese equipment.

3. A3 size small UV printer _Considerations Before Buying a UV Printer
I strongly advise against buying a cheap printer costing around 2 million won.
It’s a modified desktop printer, and its stability isn’t guaranteed.
Also, many people buy directly from AliExpress. Be sure to check whether the seller is a trading company, an assembly-only company, or a developer and manufacturer.
If they respond to equipment issues once or twice, but the issue isn’t resolved, it can be difficult to obtain after-sales service in the future.

III. Something you absolutely must check!!_Considerations Before Buying a UV Printer
First, you need to ensure the print quality is adequate for the task at hand.
One customer purchased a Chinese printer and stopped using it after three months.
While general images turned out okay, the rough halftone patterns on his phone case caused him to give up on the printer,
and eventually purchase a different printer.
You absolutely must check the print quality.
Second, product stability is a challenge. Therefore, you should ensure smooth after-sales service.
Depending on the level of the after-sales service representative, issues may or may not be easily resolved.
Furthermore, the level of after-sales service representative who worked for a manufacturer differs significantly from that of a representative who worked for a general distributor.
It’s worth checking this as well.
Finally, it’s about your attitude.
You should study the equipment for at least two weeks or a month, learning step by step by reading manuals or blog posts.
This will make the equipment easier to use, and you’ll become more familiar with it, allowing you to resolve issues without panicking.
IV. This is how ARTJET supports our customers.
One thing I feel while selling and maintaining ARTJET UV Printers for 5 years is that the next most important thing after product stability is Troubleshooting DATA.
All products have problems, whether they are actual equipment problems or consumer errors, and product stability is how easily and quickly you solve those problems.
We are organizing all the troubleshooting DATA as follows.
