Today, I will explain an issue on a consumer site where the printer initially prints normally, but white lines appear when the Y-axis exceeds 600 mm.

1. Cause estimation _White lines appear when Y-axis exceeds 600mm

When I first saw the photo, I suspected abnormal data.

If the data is abnormal, the cause is complex.

  • The head carriage board itself,
  • the print head itself,
  • the data cable itself,
  • or the software itself.

However, as shown below, the white lines appeared at the same intervals.

The company’s team leader is printing in both directions at a full 600 x 900 size, and there’s a height discrepancy across the entire flatbed.

We determined that the white line arae was higher than other areas.

We suspected that the problem wasn’t with the printhead itself, but rather with the underside of the head carriage being heavily contaminated or with white residue, causing white streaks to appear at intervals between passes.

“Sir, could you please check the underside of the head carriage?”

“I cleaned it”

“I’m not talking about the head itself, but the entire underside of the head carriage.”

“How can I see it?”

“Raise the head height to 100mm, press the arrow buttons to move sideways, and you’ll be able to see the underside of the head.”

“Please wipe any contaminated areas with a cloth.”

“Okay, how often should I clean it?”

“Except for the underside of the head, please clean the underside of the head carriage once a week.”

“Okay, I understand.”
