1. Wrong judgment about X, Y  _Start position keeps getting moved while printing

I received the problematic photo, and looking only at the photo below, I assumed the horizontal axis was the X-axis and the vertical axis was the Y-axis.

I also assumed the nozzle leak was coming from the X-axis.

2. Useless work done due to misunderstanding of the X and Y axes  _Start position keeps getting moved while printing

The company representative, of course, knew that horizontal was the Y axis and vertical was the X axis.

Based on the photo above, I assumed the X and Y axes were reversed.

“The X-axis starting point is wrong? The print is coming out in a diamond shape?”

I thought the problem was with the program itself.

I tried reinstalling the software and the RIP software, but nothing worked.

I even considered replacing the board.

After several attempts, I finally understood the X and Y axes. Looking at the symptoms of the problem,

• The text isn’t clear because it’s printed in bi directions, but I thought this was due to the pinout not being properly aligned.
• If it were a liner scale issue, there should be double images, but there weren’t any places where double images (Misunderstanding caused by a problem where the bi direction offset does not match) were severe.
• However, as I moved along the Y-axis, the image starting position continued to shift to the left.

When a problem occurs, most of customers only send me an image of the problem, but I can’t guess what’s causing the problem based on that image alone.

The image they sent me only tells me that “the X-axis printing start point is shifted to the left during printing.”

“I’m a bit tired. I’ll take a break and send it to you later.”

 

This is the only way I can guess what the problem is, but it’s frustrating to wait.

After a while, I received the image, and I immediately deduced the cause of the problem.

The image shows that data is printed abnormally only in a specific area of ​​the X-axis.

“It’s either the X-axis liner scale or the X-axis liner reader.”

2. Problem solving  _Start position keeps getting moved while printing

While explaining how to clean the liner scale via video call, I looked at his machine’s liner scale.

In a certain area, white had blown away, leaving the liner scale cloudy and contaminated.

 

“CEO, please wipe the liner scale with a lint-free cloth.”

“It’s contaminated with ink, so I don’t think it’ll clean well. Should I wipe it with alcohol?”

“Someone told me that using alcohol can erase the liner scale markings, so for now, just wipe it with a cloth. If that doesn’t work, since it’s unusable anyway, wipe it with alcohol and try again.”

“Do you have a spare liner scale?”

“Yes, I have one. Please proceed.”

 

After a while, I received the photo.

Looking at the differences from the previous image,

• the data disconnection has disappeared,
• and the bidirectional pins have also returned properly.
