UV Printer Ink Supply Problem Captop Replacement Method

 

We are looking at UV Printer ink supply problems and solutions.

So far, we have explained each part related to ink supply.

Today, we will explain Captop replacement.

I. When to Consider Replacing a Captop _UV Printer Ink Supply Problem Captop Replacement Method

For ARTJET UV Printer or similar UV Printers using captop, we do not specify the time for captop replacement.
However, we will consider replacement when ink load (pumping) problem occurs.

1. When bubbles appear during ink loading (pumping) _UV Printer Ink Supply Problem Captop Replacement Method

 

If air is drawn into the damper, print head, and ink tube fitting, air bubbles will be carried out together with the ink during ink loading.

• If the ink line is loosely connected to the damper in the print head channel, air will be drawn into the gap.
• Similarly, if the damper is not tightly inserted into the print head channel, air will be drawn into the gap.
• Air will be drawn into the ink tube fitting slightly.
• If the damper itself bursts or something, air will be drawn into the gap.

 

When the print head bottom and captop are not aligned, air bubbles come out together with the ink during ink loading.

• If the position is not correct, when the vacuum is broken during capping, air flows in through the gap.

If the ink line at the bottom of the captop is not properly connected, air bubbles come out together with the ink during ink loading.

• When the captop bottom tube is loosely connected,
• or when tubes of the same specifications are not used,

 

Or when the peristaltic pump tube (yellow tube) itself is worn and burst, bubbles come out together with the ink during ink loading (pumping).

2. When even air bubbles do not appear during ink loading (pumping) _UV Printer Ink Supply Problem Captop Replacement Method

When the captop and print head positions are not aligned at all,
When the peristaltic pump tube (yellow tube) is severely shrunken and ink pumping does not occur at all,
When the ink tube is worn and torn and there is no ink inside the ink tube,
When the ink tube is bent and blocks the ink supply

 

3. When to replace the captop _UV Printer Ink Supply Problem Captop Replacement Method

If bubbles or nothing comes out when loading (pumping) ink despite checking all the above,

that is, if everything is checked and the problem is not resolved, you should consider replacing the captop.

There are not many cases where ink loading (pumping) does not occur due to a problem with the captop itself.

 

However,

When the remaining ink inside the captop hardens or
When the remaining ink inside the captop deteriorates,
In this case, no matter how well the ink load is, the captop must be replaced.

In this case, I will explain in detail in a separate article later, and today I will explain how to replace the captop.

As shown in the picture above, do not loosen the bolts with a driver.
If you loosen them, the print head bottom and captop positions that you worked hard to align will change, and ink loading may not work even if you replace the captop.

You can separate the captop separately, and assemble the new captop without loosening the screws in the picture above.

There are two types of Captops used in the XP600 print head.
We are using expensive Captops, and it was not easy to align the print head and Captop positions when using the old cheap Captops.

The diameters of the ink tube and the Captop bottom tube are different.

You should not use the ink tube because there is no tube, but you should use the dedicated tube for the bottom of the Captop.

If you are doing it for the first time, it is not easy to remove and put the Captop in. Please refer to the video.
