Touch Panel Diagram – Chinese UV Printer Settings Guide

This post is for anyone who imported a Chinese-made UV printer directly, or who bought one but never got a detailed explanation of the settings.
We could be wrong, but most Chinese UV printers seem to use a very similar touch panel layout, so we’re sharing this for reference.

I. The First Time We Pressed the Touch Panel – Touch Panel Diagram

When the machine first arrived two years ago and we looked at the touch panel, pressing “Enter” opened up a surprisingly complex set of functions.

As a seller, if a customer asks “what does this function do?”, simply saying “it’s not important, don’t touch it” doesn’t feel right. At minimum, the answer should be something like “here’s what it does, and it has no effect on printing, so you don’t need to worry about it.”

Most people have probably seen a button layout like this before.

We’ll assume you already know what the outward-facing buttons do, and focus this guide on the functions inside “Enter.” Everything from here on is manual content.

1. Enter Button — Full Menu Structure

Pressing the Enter button takes you into the settings menu shown below. There are three levels of settings screens, briefly explained level by level below.

Do not press Restore Default here. We pressed it once by mistake, and had to redo every setting from the beginning.

2. Level 2

1) Setup Menu

  • Auto clean: sets the number of pump cycles and the spit duration used during cleaning.
  • Spurt Freq: before each print job, the head carriage moves to the left and jets ink in place while waiting. We raised the spit count when White ink showed poor initial jetting — it added some wait time, but it did help somewhat.

2) Maintenance

Nozzle Test and Clean nozzle here do the same thing as the equivalent buttons on the outside of the touch panel.

Manual Pump is the button we use most. #1 is Color, #2 is White, #3 is Varnish. There’s a #4 as well, but it’s almost never used.

3) Auxiliary Func

  • InkAgitate: settings for the ink bottle agitator — how long it spins per cycle, and how often it runs.
  • Whether to use the laser sensor that automatically adjusts print height.
  • This is also where you set the X-axis “0” / Y-axis “0” origin point on the flatbed — a question we get a lot. If you use a fixed jig, you can set the jig’s starting point here to align it to “0, 0.”
  • Fan Setup: adjusts the suction force that holds the material down — in our experience, increasing it doesn’t make much difference.

III. Level 3 – Touch Panel Diagram

Almost all of these are configured at the factory before shipping.

  • Station Pos: the exact capping position.
  • Spurt Pos: whether to spit (nozzle-only motion, no carriage movement) while in the capping position. Turning this on keeps nozzle condition better once you start printing, but it uses more ink and puts more wear on the nozzles, so it may shorten their lifespan somewhat.
  • Wipe Pos, Wiper Pos: sets the exact position where the head is wiped during auto-cleaning.
  • Spit Height doesn’t have a meaningful effect.
  • Cap Height: adjusts capping tightness if it’s too loose or too tight.
2) Print spit

Many industrial printers start printing the moment you press the start button. Most Chinese printers, however, are designed to run the nozzles through a warm-up motion first, then begin printing.

In our experience, it’s worth keeping this setting on even though it costs a bit of extra time — and for White in particular, it feels close to essential.

This might be a fairly dry topic, but we hope it clears up a few questions for anyone running similar equipment.
