ARTJET UV Printer Application 9 _ Mask printing not recommend
ARTJET UV Printer has been sold in Korea for 4 years, and we are organizing the printer problems we have encountered so far, their causes, and their solutions.
We have compiled 10 different print head problems and 17 ink supply problems, and you can find detailed information at the site below.
ARTJET UV Printer troubleshooting sum up
From last time, we are explaining not only UV printer problems and solutions, but also what products are produced with UV printers.
In the first session, we explained how to print high-value Braille using the ARTJET UV Printer. For more details, please refer to the site below.

In the second session, we explained how to align the images on the front and back when flipping the material over and printing a different image on the back after printing on the front. See below for details.

In the third session, we explained how to print a three-dimensional elephant rather than simply printing it in color.

In the fourth session, I explained how to implement colors that are not expressed in colors created with an ICC profile using the Sai rip [Color Adjustment] tab.

In the fifth session, I explained how to accurately match the print size using Sai rip.

In the sixth session, we talked about the acrylic bonding equipment that those who have UV printers and laser cutting equipment are looking for.
Hereuner is only Korean since only Korea is hot on this machine. ARTJET UV Printer Application 6 _아크릴 본딩 장비
In the seventh session “How much ink is consumed in total for the printouts we produce?” and “How much does ink cost?” I explained the Sai rip option where you can see.

In the Eighth session, I explained why it is not easy to print cell phone cases because of the height of the iPhone 14 camera, which is a question asked so many times.

Today, I will explain why mask printing, which many people tried to do during the Corona era, is not easy with UV printing.
Those who want to print on fabric can also refer to this.
I. Problems printing masks with UV printer

1. Material loading problem
For UV Printer printing, the material placed on the flat surface must remain flat and not move.
The bottom of the UV Printer flat surface absorbs the material with a vacuum or sucks in the wind through a fan to hold the material.
Since both use a vacuum or wind to hold the material, the holding force cannot but be weak if the material is a porous layer.
If it is weak, the material may move during printing, or the holding force may be weak, causing the material to bend due to the LED heat and hit the print head.
The mask must be porous to allow breathing, and the vacuum or fan of the UV Printer cannot capture the material.
Despite these problems, I somehow managed to make a jig out of film to help the mask fit snugly onto the plate.
2. 코팅 되지 않은 천
In the case of ARTJET, Color is 1ch for each color, and white is 6ch which is 6 times, so when White 100% is processed, it is printed at 600% as 6ch x 100%.
Since a lot of White is discharged, I thought it would cover the blue background sufficiently, but as soon as the ink was discharged, the fabric ate the ink and the white concentration slightly increased.
For this reason, I print white twice to implement the color shown in the picture.
If the mask printing margin is not high, not only is a lot of white ink consumed, but the work time to print once more is also a cost,,, so the profit is greatly reduced.
When printing on fabric, other than the mask, it is important to check whether the fabric itself absorbs the ink.
3. The Critical Issue
I found out a while ago that it is in direct contact with the respiratory system, so it cannot be printed with UV ink.
II. Fabrics that are actually being printed
Those who have large UV printers actually print on fabric.
They say it’s called Gwangmok fabric, and it seems to be mainly for advertising.
I spoke to an acquaintance of mine,
but he said that depending on the coating condition of the fabric, the color is slightly different, and the ink absorption is different.
If you’re printing on fabric, I hope what I’ve said was helpful.
That’s all for today.
