Today, I will explain canvas printing, which is very simple for those of you who have a UV printer.
I. Some notes
1. Frame work after canvas printing??
If you plan to print on canvas and then make a wooden frame yourself to complete the product, I do not recommend it.
The canvas itself is porous and is not fixed to the UV Printer flatbed by vacuum or fan.
You need to place the canvas on the UV flatbed and secure it with tape while pulling it tightly,
* Since you need to attach the tape to all four edges to print, it takes a lot of time.
* Even if you attach it all and print, there are times when the canvas bends in the middle due to UV heat during printing.
Even if the printing on the canvas is good, when working on the frame,
* When you pull the printed canvas tightly and secure it, some parts may be pulled too much and tight, and some parts may be pulled too lightly and cause image distortion,
* It is not easy to align the frame edges and the ends of the printing exactly.
2. Print on framed canvas
When purchasing a framed canvas, you must make sure that the wooden frame is not warped.
If the wooden frame is warped, some parts will be raised higher when placed on the UV Printer flatbed, and the UV Printer’s stand off of 1.2mm will not be secured.
For other materials, there is almost always a printing margin on the border, but canvas frames are printed without a border margin, so tape cannot be attached to the end of the frame.
If you purchased a slightly warped frame,
* the only way is to use double-sided tape to secure the bottom of the wooden frame.
* You can attach the tape to the canvas next to the wooden frame, not the canvas print side, but the adhesion is not good because the canvas is porous.
Where there is no wooden frame
Even if the canvas is pulled tight and fixed to the wooden frame, when placed on the UV Printer flatbed, the canvas in the area without the wooden frame will sag downwards.
You need to make a simple jig to support the area where it sags downwards to secure a standoff of 1.2mm for the entire canvas.
3. To print the curved part of the frame end cleanly,
No matter how well you adjust the print size, the framed canvas size is not 100% identical.
For this reason, the first print was printed exactly to the canvas border,
but the second one was not printed on the right side, leaving a white margin,
and the third one was moved slightly to the left because of this, but the image overflowed and ink was splattered messily next to the frame,,
For most people who have experience working with framed canvases,
* Attach mask tape at regular intervals next to the canvas frame.
* Rip the image to be printed to a size slightly larger than the frame.
* Place a dummy of the same height next to the canvas frame to minimize ink spilling over the image.
* Remove the mask tape when printing is complete.
4. Tips on Color
A customer sent me two canvas frames and wanted to make sure the colors were well represented, so I used Sai rip’s “Strong Color” graph. Please refer to the Sai rip graph adjustment method below.

The “strong color” color graph that was expressed so well in Acrylic was expressed too darkly in Canvas, and the dark parts became black and were not well distinguished.
* Since the canvas itself contains a specific color and is slightly glossy,
* the color is expressed well even if you only apply the basic ICC profile, so you do not need to apply a strong color value.
II. A request from a junior I know
1. “What rookie CEO compares me to you?”
He was a friend who came in as a new employee when I was a deputy, and we worked together for 3 years.
I have been in contact with some juniors I met at work for over 10 years, and he is one of them.

A while ago, I was running in the mountains when I got a call from him. We talked about life and work for over 30 minutes.
“How can I live a stable life like you?” I asked,,,
“Manager, you’re a rookie CEO,, you shouldn’t dare compare me”
We went to a restaurant in Samseong Station a few times, and we rarely met since then, but it’s a bit surprising that we still have this comfortable relationship.
